Who created the program?

The Best of Friends program was developed in the clinic setting by Educational and Developmental Psychologist, Dr Kimberley O’Brien, together with the QK team.

Do I need training?

Yes. You will need to complete a simple accreditation process. When it comes to delivering The Best of Friends program, we are committed to ensuring the highest possible standards for our young participants and their parents. We are equally committed to supporting our affiliates to facilitate the program with confidence and consistency every time.

What is the program structure? 

The clinic-based Best of Friends program involves 10 hours of client contact. This typically involves 10 x 1-hour sessions with the child in a group setting, and 2 x 30-minute sessions with parents before and after the program.

I am based in a regional area, can I apply?

Yes! All psychologists, child and adolescent counsellors and other professionals able to demonstrate counselling, group facilitation skills and relevant experience are eligible to apply, anywhere.

How much does it cost my clients?

The 10-hour Best of Friends Social and Emotional learning (SEL) program is $850 (early bird) or $900(full fee). That’s $90 per hour and include our award winning participant’s workbook and regular communication with parents.

Do I need a Working With Children Check?

Yes. All facilitators must provide a current working with children check.

Who is eligible to become a facilitator? 

Psychologists, teachers, youth workers and other trained professionals with experience facilitating groups and working with children. To find out if you meet the criteria, contact Quirky Kid.

How much does it cost?

To become an affiliate, there is a one-off fee of $199 to cover your registration, the drafting of your contract and your system set up.

Do participants need to buy a workbook?

No. Our award winning workbook is included in the cost of each client’s program registration.
